The Grunt
So here is the Grunt from Amnesia, drawn in four different techniques wich all are only allowed black and white. I tried charcoal, ink, a black watercolour pencil and scraping. c: It was fun to try new methods but it got pretty boring that we had to make the same thing four times. ;A; Almost made me tired of seeing Mr. Face, but then again, I can never not like Amnesia. It’s too awesome to dislike. +____+
Sooo, today during art class, we were supposed to draw some picture/painting/what ever, that already exists, but make it only using black. And you could pick which techniques you wanted to work with. And I picked coal and my reference was the Grunt from Amnesia The Dark Descent. :3 Oh I love him so♥ (only when he isn’t chasing me). Ok so it was quite fun to work with coal, I’ve never worked with it before. And I finished it kind of quickly. Then I tried another technique (but I have no picture of that one version q_q) and that’s where I used an inc pen, those that you dip into inc. + ___ + It was kind of cool. When I finished the grunt using inc, I just felt spontaneous and started to draw directly with the inc pen on a white paper. I started off with Shon from GRB, and suddenly it became a full page of GRB related stuff. :B And I kind of like the idea just came to me at that very moment. I don’t care about all the mistakes, because I had a lot of fun doing this! :D
I’ve had an art block for quite some time, but suddenly when I was on the Amnesia RP, I had this idea that became a Kaernk thought; “If there was a way to make me visible and a bit more humane… would I be a merman?” Then after that, the dashboard was filled with Merman-Kaernk drawings and ideas! Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. :D But since most of the drawings and sketches were half-assed done, I wanted to do something more serious. So I started on this drawing. I won’t lie, it took a lot of time. At some times I even wanted to give up, which was mostly during the colouring part, because I enjoyed the sketching the most. ♥
For those who don’t know who Kaernk is, it’s the water monster in Amnesia the Dark Descent. So yeah, this is how Kaernk would look like in my mind, if he was a merman. And then we got Hazel, Daniel’s younger sister who is very ill. I decided to draw these two because they’ve become very good, in a weird way, friends. (:
